Edinburgh’s underground venue less ordinary, Jamaica Yard is a venue that adapts to your vision.

Whether you're planning a private gathering or an event open to the public, our space is available for private hire on evenings and weekends.

With a fully staffed cocktail bar, an exterior courtyard, and capacity for 60 standing or 20 seated guests, it's a unique, design-led setting for launches, exhibitions, parties, book groups, and everything in between.

Alongside private events, we’re building a varied programme of gatherings open to both members and the public. Expect wine tastings, jazz nights, social mixers, and wellness classes – all designed to bring our community together.

What kind of event can I host at Jamaica Yard?

We welcome a wide range of gatherings, from creative showcases and panel discussions to book groups, lectures, and private parties. If you have an idea that feels a little out of the ordinary, we’re probably the right place for it.

What’s included in your venue hire fee?

Everything apart from your catering and bar spend is included in our venue hire fee. We ask for a minimum spend for certain events, which can vary depending on the type of event you are looking to host.

Can I bring my own catering?

Of course, we can offer some suggestions of local companies that have used our space before, but we are open to external catering if you have something in mind.

Can I hire a DJ?

You can indeed, Jamaica Yard is the perfect venue for a DJ, as we have a DJ booth available in our Vaults, and we also have vinyl decks available to play through Sonos.

Do you charge corkage for private events?

We don’t, no.

Is the venue available to non-members?

Yes, our venue is open for hire to both members and the public. However, members are offered discounted hire rates as part of their Jamaica Yard membership.

What types of events are hosted by Jamaica Yard?

As well as functioning as a venue available for private hire, Jamaica Yard offers a range of social mixers and networking events. We also host events in collaboration with partners that are open to members and the public.

Do you take event proposals or collaborations?

Can I attend events even if I'm not a member?

Absolutely. A selection of our events are open to the public, so keep an eye on our socials for announcements and ticket info.
